Ibn Zubayr used to provide us with dates as our ration during a time when people were suffering hardship. Abdullah bin Umar passed by us and forbade us from eating two dates at once, saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade eating two dates together unless a man seeks permission from his companion."
حدثنا عبد الله قال وجدت في كتاب أبي حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا شعبة
كان ابن الزبير يرزقنا التمر وبالناس يومئذ جهد قال فمر بنا عبد الله بن عمر فنهانا عن الإقران وقال إن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن الإقران إلا أن يستأذن الرجل أخاه
