The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The month is like this," and he held up his fingers twice in full, then on the third time folded down his thumb. Muhammad bin Jafar said in his version of the narration that he meant by this twenty-nine.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر وبهز قالا حدثنا شعبة عن جبلة بن سحيم قال بهز أخبرني قال سمعت
قال رسول الله ﷺ الشهر هكذا وطبق بأصابعه مرتين وكسر في الثالثة الإبهام قال محمد بن جعفر في حديثه يعني قوله تسع وعشرين
