The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the use of the jarr, which is the gourd, and the vessel coated with pitch, and said, "Make your nabidh in waterskins."
حدثنا بهز ومحمد بن جعفر قالا حدثنا شعبة قال بهز قال حدثنا عقبة بن حريث سمعت
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الجر وهي الدباء والمزفت وقال انتبذوا في الأسقية
Its isnad is sahih. Uqbah bin Hurayth, with the diminutive form, the Taghlabi, was a trustworthy successor. He was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Main and Nasai. The hadith has already appeared in similar form with the same meaning several times, most recently at 5015.
