I was beside the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when the delegation of Abdul-Qays arrived along with al-Ashajj. They asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about beverages, and he forbade them from using the green clay jar, the gourd, and the hollowed palm trunk.
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا عبد الخالق بن سلمة الشيباني سمعت سعيد بن المسيب سمعت
كنت عند منبر رسول الله ﷺ قدوم وفد عبد القيس مع الأشج فسألوا رسول الله ﷺ عن الأشربة فنهاهم عن الحنتم والدباء والنقير
Its isnad is sahih, and it is an abridgment of 4629, see also 4915, 8038. His saying, "The delegation of Abdul-Qays came," is thus in the original manuscripts, and the word "sahih" was written above it in [M] to indicate that nothing had been omitted before it, and that it is based on the omission of something understood.
