Umar asked the Prophet ﷺ, "May one of us sleep while in a state of major impurity?"He replied, "Yes, and let him perform wudu as he would for prayer."Nafi said, "Whenever Ibn Umar wanted to do anything of that sort, he would perform wudu as he would for prayer, except for his feet."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثني معمر عن أيوب عن نافع عن ابن عمر عن النبي ﷺ مثله أن عمر سأل النبي ﷺ
Its chain of transmission is sahih, and it is a repetition of what came before it. It has already appeared in the Musnad of Umar with this same chain, number 236. It appears to me that all its narrations belong to the Musnad of Ibn Umar, and that what appears in some narrations attributed to Umar is only meant to refer to the story of Umar and his question.
