The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a piece of phlegm on the qiblah wall of the mosque. He scraped it off, then turned to the people and said, "When one of you is in prayer, he should not spit in front of him, for Allah Almighty is in front of him whenever he is in prayer."

أن رسول الله ﷺ رأى نخامة في قبلة المسجد فحتها ثم أقبل على الناس فقال إذا كان أحدكم في الصلاة فلا يتنخم قبل وجهه فإن الله تعالى قبل وجه أحدكم إذا كان في الصلاة
