Abdullah bin Umar reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When people become miserly with the Dinar and the dirham, deal in transactions of inah, follow the tails of cattle, and abandon jihad in the path of Allah, Allah will send down upon them a calamity that He will not lift from them until they return to their religion."

حدثنا الأسود بن عامر أخبرنا أبو بكر عن الأعمش عن عطاء بن أبي رباح

عن ابن عمر قال

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إذا يعني ضن الناس بالدينار والدرهم وتبايعوا بالعين واتبعوا أذناب البقر وتركوا الجهاد في سبيل الله أنزل الله بهم بلاء فلم يرفعه عنهم حتى يراجعوا دينهم
