Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Mecca, he would say, "Allah, do not let our deaths occur here until You have taken us out of it."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا عبد الله بن سعيد بن أبي هند عن أبيه
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا دخل مكة قال اللهم لا تجعل منايانا بها حتى تخرجنا منها
Its chain is sahih. It appears in Majma al-Zawaid 5:253, where it is said, Ahmad and Bazzar narrated it, and the men of Ahmad's chain are the men of the Sahih, except for Muhammad bin Rabia, who is trustworthy. This is a reference to another chain for the hadith, which will come at 6076, narrated by Ahmad from Muhammad bin Rabia from Abdullah bin Saeed bin Abu Hind. It seems that Hafiz Haythami did not see the chain given here through Waki, since all the men of this chain are the men of the Sahih.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked that he himself, or any of the emigrants, should die in Makkah before their emigration had become firmly established for them, as is reported concerning Saad bin Khawla, for whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ grieved because he died in Makkah.
