The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no contagion, no evil omen, and no hama."A man stood up and asked, "Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a camel that has mange and then the rest of the herd catches it?"He replied, "That is divine decree. Who gave the mange to the first one?"
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا أبو جناب عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا عدوى ولا طيرة ولا هامة قال فقام إليه رجل فقال يا رسول الله أرأيت البعير يكون به الجرب فتجرب الإبل قال ذلك القدر فمن أجرب الأول
Its isnad is daif, due to the weakness of Abu Janab Kalbi. Ibn Majah 1:23 narrated it via Waki, from Abu Janab Yahya bin Abu Hayyah, and his commentator quoted from Zawaid, "This isnad is daif, for Yahya bin Abu Hayyah used to practice tadlis, and he reported from his father using the formula 'an' (indicating an indirect chain)."Part of it will come later with a sahih isnad from Ibn Umar, within a hadith, with the wording, "There is no contagion and no bird omen," 6405. Its meaning has already passed with two sahih isnads from the hadith of Ibn Abbas, 2425 and 3032, and with a daif isnad from the hadith of Ibn Masud, 4198.
