Whenever I heard something from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Allah benefited me with it as He willed. Abu Bakr narrated to me, and Abu Bakr spoke the truth, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no Muslim who commits a sin, then performs ablution and prays two units of prayer, then asks Allah Most High for forgiveness for that sin, except that he is forgiven."Then he recited these two verses, "And whoever does evil or wrongs himself, then seeks Allah's forgiveness, will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful" [Nisa 4:110], and "And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves..." [Aal Imran 3:135].
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا شعبة عن عثمان بن المغيرة قال سمعت علي بن ربيعة من بني أسد يحدث عن أسماء أو ابن أسماء من بني فزارة قال
إذا سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ شيئا نفعني الله بما شاء أن ينفعني منه وحدثني أبو بكر وصدق أبو بكر قال قال رسول الله ﷺ ما من مسلم يذنب ذنبا ثم يتوضأ فيصلي ركعتين ثم يستغفر الله تعالى لذلك الذنب إلا غفر له وقرأ هاتين الآيتين {ومن يعمل سوءا أو يظلم نفسه ثم يستغفر الله يجد الله غفورا رحيما} {والذين إذا فعلوا فاحشة أو ظلموا أنفسهم} الآية
Its isnad is sahih. Ali bin Rabia, from Banu Assad, is al-Walibi, and Walibah is a clan belonging to Banu Assad. Asma or Ibn Asma, from Banu Fazara, is Asma bin Hakam al-Fazari, one of the narrators being uncertain about his name.
