I came upon Ibn Umar while he was at al-Balat, and the people were praying in the mosque.I asked him, "What keeps you from praying with the people?"He replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Do not perform the same prayer twice in one day.'"

أتيت على ابن عمر وهو بالبلاط والقوم يصلون في المسجد قلت ما يمنعك أن تصلي مع الناس أو القوم قال إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ قال لا تصلوا صلاة في يوم مرتين
