Its isnad is sahih. His statement "between them is Salim" means that Zuhri narrated it from Salim, from Ibn Umar, not directly from Ibn Umar. Likewise, Tirmidhi 1:370 narrated it from Ibn Abu Umar, from Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Amr bin Dinar, from Zuhri, from Salim, from Ibn Umar, with the same wording. Tirmidhi said, the hadith of Ibn Umar is a hasan sahih hadith.Abu Dawud 1:440 narrated it through the route of Abdul-Razzaq, from Maamar, from Zuhri, from Salim, from Ibn Umar, adding at the end "in his house." Munziri said, Tirmidhi, Nasai, and Ibn Majah also transmitted it... but Tirmidhi's hadith does not contain "in his house."Bukhari and Muslim and others narrated it through the route of Nafi, from Ibn Umar.
