I came to Uthman bin Affan while he was sitting on the benches. He performed ablution, doing it well, then said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in this very spot perform ablution, doing it well. He then said, 'Whoever performs ablution as I have done, then goes to the mosque and prays two rakahs in it, his previous sins will be forgiven.'"He added, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'But do not be deceived into complacency.'"
Its isnad is sahih. Shayban is Ibn Abdul-Rahman Tamimi Nahwi. Yahya is Ibn Abu Kathir. Muaz bin Abdul-Rahman Taymi is trustworthy.Hadith 478 will come, narrated by Muhammad bin Ibrahim Taymi, from Shaqiq bin Salama, from Humran. See also 421 and 436.The phrase "do not be deceived" appears in two manuscripts as "do not be stingy" with a qaf, which is a mistake. We have corrected it based on a third manuscript and on the coming narration.
