Abdullah bin Umar reported,

Sufyan was asked, "Was it Ibn Amr?"He said, "No, it was Ibn Umar," that when the Prophet ﷺ besieged the people of Taif and was unable to gain anything from them, he said, "We will be departing tomorrow, Allah willing."The Muslims seemed to dislike this, so he said, "Then advance to battle in the morning."They went forth to fight and sustained wounds. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "We will be departing tomorrow, Allah willing."The Muslims were pleased at this, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed.
