Malik bin Abdullah reported,

Abu Dharr came seeking permission to enter upon Uthman bin Affan , and he was granted permission. He had his staff in his hand.Uthman said, "Kaab, Abdul-Rahman has died and left behind wealth. What is your view concerning it?"Kaab replied, "If he used to fulfill the right of Allah from it, then there is no harm upon him."Abu Dharr raised his staff and struck Kaab, then said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'I would not wish to have this mountain in gold, spending it and having it accepted from me, while leaving behind six ounces of it.' I adjure you by Allah, Uthman, did you hear it?" He repeated this three times.Uthman said, "Yes."

مالك بن عبد الله البردادي يحدث

عن أبي ذر أنه جاء يستأذن على عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه فأذن له وبيده عصاه فقال عثمان رضي الله عنه يا كعب إن عبد الرحمن توفي وترك مالا فما ترى فيه فقال إن كان يصل فيه حق الله فلا بأس عليه فرفع أبو ذر عصاه فضرب كعبا وقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول ما أحب لو أن لي هذا الجبل ذهبا أنفقه ويتقبل مني أذر خلفي منه ست أواق أنشدك الله يا عثمان أسمعته ثلاث مرات قال نعم
