A man reported,

He saw Uthman bin Affan sit at the second door of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ mosque. He called for a shoulder of meat and gnawed it clean, then he stood and prayed without performing ablution. He then said, "I sat where the Prophet ﷺ sat, ate what the Prophet ﷺ ate, and did what the Prophet ﷺ did."

عن شيخ من ثقيف ذكره حميد بصلاح ذكر أن عمه أخبره

أنه رأى عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه جلس على الباب الثاني من مسجد رسول الله ﷺ فدعا بكتف فتعرقها ثم قام فصلى ولم يتوضأ ثم قال جلست مجلس النبي ﷺ وأكلت ما أكل النبي ﷺ وصنعت ما صنع النبي ﷺ
