Abdullah heard the news of an earthquake and remarked, "We, the companions of Muhammad ﷺ, used to count miraculous signs as a blessing, while you count them as a cause for fear.Once, while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and had no water, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, 'Look for whoever has any,' meaning water. We did so, and some water was brought to him. He poured it into a vessel, then placed his palms in it, and the water began to flow from between his fingers. He then said, 'Come to the blessed means of purification, and the blessing is from Allah.' I filled my belly from it, and the people drank their fill."Abdullah added, "We used to hear the glorification of food while it was being eaten."
قال حدثنا الوليد بن القاسم بن الوليد حدثنا إسرائيل عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن علقمة
وسمع عبد الله بخسف قال كنا أصحاب محمد ﷺ نعد الآيات بركة وأنتم تعدونها تخويفا إنا بينا نحن مع رسول الله ﷺ وليس معنا ماء فقال لنا رسول الله ﷺ اطلبوا من معه يعني ماء ففعلنا فأتي بماء فصبه في إناء ثم وضع كفيه فجعل الماء يخرج من بين أصابعه ثم قال حي على الطهور المبارك والبركة من الله فملأت بطني منه واستسقى الناس قال عبد الله قد كنا نسمع تسبيح الطعام وهو يؤكل
