A man said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "I met a woman in a garden in Madinah and did everything with her short of intercourse." Then the verse was revealed, "And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night" [Hud 11:114].
حدثنا أبو قطن حدثنا شعبة عن سماك عن إبراهيم عن خاله
أن رجلا قال لرسول الله ﷺ لقيت امرأة في حش بالمدينة فأصبت منها ما دون الجماع فنزلت {وأقم الصلاة طرفي النهار وزلفا}
Its isnad is sahih. Ibrahim is Ibn Yazid Nakhai. His maternal uncle is either Aswad bin Yazid Nakhai or Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid Nakhai, for both are his maternal uncles, or else Alqama bin Qays Nakhai, the paternal uncle of Aswad and Abdul-Rahman. Ibrahim narrated the hadith from all three of them, at length and in brief, as will come with isnads 4250, 4290, and 4291.
