We were traveling by night with the Prophet ﷺ. We said, "Messenger of Allah, what if we touched the ground for a while to sleep and let our mounts graze?" So he did.He said, "Let one of you keep watch for us."Abdullah said, I said, "I will keep watch for you."But sleep overcame me, and I did not wake until the sun had risen. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself did not wake until he heard us speaking. He then ordered Bilal to call the adhan, and then he called the iqamah, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer.
حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن سماك عن القاسم بن عبد الرحمن عن أبيه
سرينا ليلة مع النبي ﷺ قال قلنا يا رسول الله لو امتسسنا الأرض فنمنا ورعت ركابنا قال ففعل قال فقال ليحرسنا بعضكم قال عبد الله فقلت أنا أحرسكم قال فأدركني النوم فنمت لم أستيقظ إلا والشمس طالعة ولم يستيقظ رسول الله ﷺ إلا بكلامنا فأمر بلالا فأذن ثم أقام الصلاة فصلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ
