Nabi bin Wahb reported,

Umar bin Ubaydullah sent a message to Abban bin Uthman asking whether he could apply kohl to his eyes while in a state of ihram, or what he should use to treat them while in ihram.Abban sent back word that he should apply aloe as a poultice on them, saying, "I heard Uthman bin Affan relate this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن أيوب عن نافع

عن نبيه بن وهب قال

أرسل عمر بن عبيد الله إلى أبان بن عثمان رضي الله عنه أيكحل عينيه وهو محرم أو بأي شيء يكحلهما وهو محرم فأرسل إليه أن يضمدهما بالصبر فإني سمعت عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه يحدث ذلك عن رسول الله ﷺ
