It is as if I can see the Prophet ﷺ now, recounting the story of a prophet whose people beat him until he collapsed, and he would wipe the blood from his forehead and say, "O Allah, forgive my people, for they do not know."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن سليمان قال سمعت أبا وائل يحدث
كأني أنظر إلى النبي ﷺ وهو يحكي نبيا قال كان قومه يضربونه حتى يصرع قال فيمسح جبهته ويقول اللهم اغفر لقومي إنهم لا يعلمون
