Abu Amr Shaybani reported,

The owner of this house, gesturing with his hand toward the house of Abdullah without naming him to us, said, "I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, 'Which deed is most beloved to Allah ?'He replied, 'Prayer at its proper time.'" Hajjaj said, "At its time.""I asked, 'Then which?'He said, 'Kindness to one's parents.'I asked, 'Then which?'He said, 'Jihad in the path of Allah.'Had I asked him for more, he would have given me more."

حدثنا صاحب هذه الدار وأشار بيده إلى دار عبد الله وما سماه لنا قال سألت رسول الله ﷺ أي العمل أحب إلى الله عز وجل فقال الصلاة على وقتها قال الحجاج لوقتها قال ثم أي قال ثم بر الوالدين قال ثم أي قال ثم الجهاد في سبيل الله ولو استزدته لزادني
