Muhammad ﷺ taught the openings of goodness, its comprehensive expressions, and its conclusions. He said, "When you sit after every two units of prayer, say, 'All greetings, prayers, and pure things belong to Allah. Peace be upon you, Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.' Then let each of you choose whichever supplication appeals to him most and call upon his Lord with it." Muhammad ﷺ also said, "Shall I inform you what slander is? It is tale-bearing, the gossip spread among people."And Muhammad ﷺ said, "A man continues to speak the truth until he is recorded with Allah as truthful, and a man continues to lie until he is recorded as a liar."
Its isnad is sahih. It is in fact three hadiths, the hadith of tashahhud, which has come before several times, including at 3877 and 4101, the hadith urging truthfulness, which has also come before several times, including at 4108, and the hadith of adah, which Muslim narrated (2:289) through Muhammad bin Jafar from Shubah, with this same isnad.Adah, with fatha on the ain and sukun on the dotted dad, is explained within the hadith itself. Ibn Athir said, "This is how it is transmitted in the books of hadith, but what appears in the books of gharib (rare words) is, 'Shall I not tell you what idah is', with kasra on the ain and fatha on the dad." I do not know why this forced distinction was made. Adah, with fatha followed by sukun, is the verbal noun of adahu yaduhu, and it is a regular verbal noun form confirmed in the lexicons.
