The Prophet ﷺ said, according to Hajjaj, "We were with the Prophet ﷺ, and he said," and according to Yazid, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered us together when we numbered forty, and I was among the last to come to him."He said, "You will be granted victory, you will attain success, and conquests will be opened for you. Whoever among you lives to see that, let him fear Allah, command what is right, and forbid what is wrong. Whoever deliberately lies about me, let him take his seat in the Fire."Yazid added, "And let him maintain ties of kinship."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر وحجاج قالا حدثنا شعبة ويزيد أخبرنا المسعودي عن سماك بن حرب عن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال قال حجاج كنا عند النبي ﷺ فقال قال يزيد جمعنا رسول الله ﷺ ونحن أربعون فكنت في آخر من أتاه قال إنكم منصورون ومصيبون ومفتوح لكم فمن أدرك ذلك فليتق الله وليأمر بالمعروف ولينه عن المنكر ومن كذب علي متعمدا فليتبوأ مقعده من النار قال يزيد وليصل رحمه
