Abdullah bin Masud reported,

I asked, "Did you hear it yourself from Abdullah?"He replied, "Yes, and he traced it back to the Prophet, who said, 'No one is more jealous than Allah , and for that reason He has forbidden indecencies, both what is open of them and what is hidden. And no one loves praise more than Allah , and for that reason He has praised Himself.'"

حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عمرو بن مرة قال سمعت أبا وائل يقول سمعت

عبد الله يقول

قلت أنت سمعته من عبد الله قال نعم وقد رفعه قال لا أحد أغير من الله عز وجل ولذلك حرم الفواحش ما ظهر منها وما بطن ولا أحد أحب إليه المدح من الله عز وجل ولذلك مدح نفسه
