Abdullah bin Masud reported,

Concerning the sermon of need, he would say, "All praise belongs to Allah. We seek His help and His forgiveness, and we take refuge in Allah from the evils of our own souls. Whomever Allah guides, none can lead astray, and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger."Then he recited three verses from the Book of Allah:"Fear Allah as He deserves to be feared, and do not die except as Muslims" [Al Imran 3:102]."Fear Allah, in whose name you appeal to one another, and be mindful of family ties. Indeed, Allah is ever watchful over you" [Nisa 4:1]."Fear Allah and speak words that are true and just" [Ahzab 33:70], to the end of the verse.
