We asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the pace of walking with a funeral procession. He said, "Anything less than a quick trot. The funeral is to be followed, not to follow others."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا حسن عن يحيى بن الحارث عن أبي ماجد الحنفي
سألنا رسول الله ﷺ عن السير بالجنازة فقال ما دون الخبب الجنازة متبوعة وليست بتابع
Its isnad is daif because of the anonymity of Abu Majid Hanafi, and we have discussed him in detail at 3585. Hasan is Ibn Salih bin Hayy. Yahya bin Harith is Yahya bin Abdullah bin Harith. The hadith has passed several times before, most recently at 3978, in longer form.
