Abu Anas reported,

Uthman رضي الله عنه performed ablution at al-Maqaid, washing each part three times. Some men from the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were present with him.He asked them, "Is this not how you saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution?"They replied, "Yes."

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Sufyan is Thawri. Abu Nadr is Salim bin Abu Umaya, freedman of Umar bin Ubaydullah Taymi. Maqaid refers to the area near the gate of the graves in Madinah, though it is also said to be roofed structures around it, and it is also said to be shops near the house of Uthman bin Affan, according to Mujam Buldan.
