I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When a curse is sent forth, it heads toward the one against whom it was directed. If it finds a way into him and finds a path, it settles upon him. Otherwise, it returns to its Lord and says, 'My Lord, so-and-so directed me against so-and-so, but I found no path against him and no way into him. What do You command me?' He says, 'Return from where you came.'"
حدثنا يعلى حدثنا عمر بن ذر عن العيزار من تنعة أن
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إذا وجهت اللعنة توجهت إلى من وجهت إليه فإن وجدت فيه مسلكا ووجدت سبيلا حلت به وإلا جاءت إلى ربها فقالت يا رب إن فلانا وجهني إلى فلان وإني لم أجد عليه سبيلا ولم أجد فيه مسلكا فما تأمرني فقال ارجعي من حيث جئت
