I learned over seventy surahs directly from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while Zayd bin Thabit was still a young boy with two locks of hair, playing with the other children.
حدثنا عفان حدثنا عبد الواحد حدثنا سليمان الأعمش عن شقيق بن سلمة قال
لقد أخذت من في رسول الله ﷺ بضعا وسبعين سورة وزيد بن ثابت غلام له ذؤابتان يلعب مع الغلمان
Its isnad is sahih. Abdul-Wahid is Ibn Ziyad Abdi. The hadith is a longer version of 3842.
