حدثنا أمية بن خالد حدثنا شعبة عن أبي إسحاق عن أبي عبيدة
أتيت رسول الله ﷺ فقلت يا رسول الله إن الله قد قتل أبا جهل فقال الحمد لله الذي نصر عبده وأعز دينه وقال مرة يعني أمية صدق عبده وأعز دينه
Its isnad is daif because it is disconnected. Umaya bin Khalid Azdi Basri is trustworthy, Abu Zura and Abu Hatim and others vouched for his reliability. See 3824, 3825, and the history of Ibn Kathir 3:289, where he mentioned something similar by way of Abu Ishaq Fazari, from Thawri, from Abu Ishaq Sabi, from Abu Ubayda, from Ibn Masud.
