The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his companions, "Let none of you bring me any report about another of my companions, for I love to come out to you with a sound and untroubled heart."He said, Some wealth was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he distributed it. I passed by two men, and one was saying to the other, "By Allah, Muhammad did not intend by his distribution the face of Allah nor the Hereafter."I stopped until I had heard what they said, then I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, you told us not to let anyone bring you any report about your companions, but I passed by so-and-so and so-and-so, and they were saying such-and-such."The Messenger of Allah's ﷺ face turned red, and it troubled him greatly. Then he said, "Leave us be. Musa was harmed with more than this, yet he was patient."
حدثنا حجاج قال سمعت إسرائيل بن يونس عن الوليد بن هشام مولى الهمداني عن زيد بن زائدة
قال رسول الله ﷺ لأصحابه لا يبلغني أحد عن أحد من أصحابي شيئا فإني أحب أن أخرج إليكم وأنا سليم الصدر قال وأتى رسول الله ﷺ مال فقسمه قال فمررت برجلين وأحدهما يقول لصاحبه والله ما أراد محمد بقسمته وجه الله ولا الدار الآخرة فتثبت حتى سمعت ما قالا ثم أتيت رسول الله ﷺ فقلت يا رسول الله إنك قلت لنا لا يبلغني أحد عن أحد من أصحابي شيئا وإني مررت بفلان وفلان وهما يقولان كذا وكذا قال فاحمر وجه رسول الله ﷺ وشق عليه ثم قال دعنا منك فقد أوذي موسى أكثر من ذلك ثم صبر
