The Prophet ﷺ said, "Usury, no matter how much it increases, will ultimately end in scarcity."
حدثنا حجاج حدثنا شريك عن الركين بن الربيع عن أبيه
أن النبي ﷺ قال الربا وإن كثر فإن عاقبته تصير إلى قل
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Rabi bin Umayla Fazari, father of Rukayn, is a trustworthy tabii. Ibn Main, Ibn Saad, and others deemed him trustworthy, and Bukhari included his biography in Kabir 1/2/247. The hadith was also narrated by Ibn Majah at 2:22 with a similar meaning.Al-qull, with damma on the qaf, means scarcity, like al-dhull means lowliness.
