The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us two sermons, the sermon of need and the sermon of prayer. "Praise be to Allah," or "Indeed, all praise belongs to Allah, we seek His help," and he mentioned the rest of its meaning.

Its chain of transmission, coming through Abu Ubayda, is daif because it is disconnected, while the chain coming through Abu Ahwas, that is, Awf bin Malik bin Nadla, is sahih because it is connected.Tirmidhi reported this hadith, 2:178, no. 297, through Amash, from Abu Ishaq, that is, Subayi, from Abu Ahwas, from Abdullah. Tirmidhi said, this is a hasan hadith. Amash reported it from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Ahwas, from Abdullah, from the Prophet, while Shubah reported it from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Ubayda, from Abdullah, from the Prophet. Both versions of the hadith are sahih, because Israil combined the two, saying, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Ahwas and Abu Ubayda, from Abdullah bin Masud, from the Prophet.Israil was not the only one to combine the two chains from Abu Ishaq, as you can see, for Shubah also combined them from Abu Ishaq here. Israil's version will come later at no. 4116, and the disconnected version will also come later through Thawri, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Ubayda, at no. 4115.Abu Dawud also reported it, 2:203–204, through both chains. Nasai reported it, 2:79, and Ibn Majah, 1:299–300, through the connected chain. Hakim reported it, 2:182–183, through the disconnected chain only.Something similar to this has already occurred, with a sahih chain, in an abridged hadith from Ibn Abbas, at no. 3275.
