Uthman reported,

I wished I had asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what could save us from the whispers that Satan casts into our hearts.Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه said, "I already asked him about that, and he replied, 'What will save you from that is to say what I instructed my uncle to say.'"

أن عثمان رضي الله عنه قال

تمنيت أن أكون سألت رسول الله ﷺ ماذا ينجينا مما يلقي الشيطان في أنفسنا فقال أبو بكر رضي الله عنه قد سألته عن ذلك فقال ينجيكم من ذلك أن تقولوا ما أمرت عمي أن يقوله

Ahmad Shakir

Its chain is daif because of a break in transmission. Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mutim did not live to meet Uthman.Amr bin Abu Amr is the freedman of Muttalib bin Abdullah bin Hantab, and he is trustworthy.Abu Huwayrith is Abdul-Rahman bin Muawiya bin Huwayrith al-Ansari. There is disagreement about him, but the more correct view is that he is trustworthy. Yahya bin Main deemed him trustworthy, and Shubah narrated from him.
