Abu Nadra reported,

I said to Jabir bin Abdullah, "Ibn Zubayr forbids tamattu, while Ibn Abbas commands it."He said to me, "It was through me that the report was passed down. We performed tamattu with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Affan added, "And with Abu Bakr.""When Umar became the ruler, he addressed the people and said, 'The Quran is the Quran, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is the Messenger. There were two forms of tamattu during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, one being tamattu of Hajj and the other being tamattu with women.'"

عن أبي نضرة قال

قلت لجابر بن عبد الله إن ابن الزبير رضي الله عنه ينهى عن المتعة وإن ابن عباس يأمر بها قال فقال لي على يدي جرى الحديث تمتعنا مع رسول الله ﷺ قال عفان ومع أبي بكر فلما ولي عمر رضي الله عنه خطب الناس فقال إن القرآن هو القرآن وإن رسول الله ﷺ هو الرسول وإنهما كانتا متعتان على عهد رسول الله ﷺ إحداهما متعة الحج والأخرى متعة النساء
