Ibn Masud said, "Shall I not pray for you the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He then prayed and did not raise his hands except once.
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن عاصم بن كليب عن عبد الرحمن بن الأسود
قال ابن مسعود ألا أصلي لكم صلاة رسول الله ﷺ قال فصلى فلم يرفع يديه إلا مرة
Its chain of transmission is sahih, and Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and Nasai narrated it. There is a lengthy discussion about it, but we do not see it as contradicting the hadiths establishing the raising of the hands at ruku and when rising from it. What affirms something takes precedence over what denies it, and the omission of the raising of the hands is evidence that it is not obligatory.
