The Prophet ﷺ said, "He is not one of us who strikes his cheeks, tears his garments, and cries out with the calls of the days of ignorance."
حدثنا يحيى حدثنا سفيان حدثني زبيد عن إبراهيم عن مسروق
عن النبي ﷺ قال ليس منا من ضرب الخدود وشق الجيوب ودعا بدعوى الجاهلية
Its isnad is sahih. It was narrated by the group except for Abu Dawud, as in Dhakhair 4961 and Jami Saghir 7689.The call of pre-Islamic times: Ibn Athir said, This refers to their saying, "O family of so-and-so," which they would call out to one another when a severe or sudden matter occurred.
