The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of people are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. After that, there will come a people whose testimonies race ahead of their oaths and whose oaths race ahead of their testimonies."
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن عبيدة
قال رسول الله ﷺ خير الناس قرني ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم ثم يأتي بعد ذلك قوم تسبق شهاداتهم أيمانهم وأيمانهم شهاداتهم
