We were with the Prophet ﷺ in a cave when "By the winds sent forth" [Mursalat 77:1] was revealed to him. I took it directly from his mouth while his mouth was still moist with it. I am not certain which verse it ended with, whether "Then in what discourse after this will they believe?" [Mursalat 77:50] or "and when it is said to them, 'Bow down,' they do not bow down" [Mursalat 77:48].A snake darted ahead of us and slipped into a hole, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "You have been spared its harm, and it has been spared yours."

كنا مع النبي ﷺ في غار فنزلت عليه والمرسلات عرفا فأخذتها من فيه وإن فاه لرطب بها فلا أدري بأيها ختم {فبأي حديث بعده يؤمنون} أو {قيل لهم اركعوا لا يركعون} سبقتنا حية فدخلت في جحر فقال النبي ﷺ قد وقيتم شرها ووقيت شركم
