A man came to Ibn Abbas and said, "I threw six pebbles, or perhaps seven."Ibn Abbas replied, "I do not know whether the Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw six or seven at the stone pillar."
حدثنا روح حدثنا شعبة عن قتادة

Its isnad is sahih. Abu Dawud narrated it, 2:148, through Khalid bin Harith from Shubah, and Munziri also attributed it to Nasai. Ibn Abbas's doubt about the number of pebbles does not negate what has been established, that they were seven pebbles, from the hadith of Ibn Masud in the two Sahihs, Ibn Umar in Bukhari, and Jabir in Muslim.
