Malik bin Aws bin Hadathan reported,

Abbas and Ali (peace be upon them) came to Umar in dispute.Abbas said, "Judge between me and this so-and-so."The people said, "Settle the matter between them, settle the matter between them."Umar said, "I will not settle it between them. They both know well that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We are not inherited from. Whatever we leave behind is charity.'"

حدثنا إسماعيل حدثنا أيوب عن عكرمة بن خالد

عن مالك بن أوس بن الحدثان قال

جاء العباس وعلي عليهما السلام إلى عمر رضي الله عنه يختصمان فقال العباس اقض بيني وبين هذا الكذا كذا فقال الناس افصل بينهما افصل بينهما قال لا أفصل بينهما قد علما أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا نورث ما تركنا صدقة
