The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a dead sheep belonging to Maymunah and said, "Why did you not make use of its hide?"They replied, "How could we, when it is dead?"He said, "Only its meat has been forbidden."Muamar said that Zuhri rejected the requirement of tanning and used to say that the hide could be used in any condition.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن الزهري عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة
مر رسول الله ﷺ بشاة لميمونة ميتة فقال ألا استمتعتم بإهابها قالوا وكيف وهي ميتة فقال إنما حرم لحمها قال معمر وكان الزهري ينكر الدباغ ويقول يستمتع بها على كل حال
