I wrote to Ibn Abbas, and he wrote back to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The oath is upon the one against whom the claim is made. If people were given whatever they claimed, some would claim the wealth and lives of others."

كتبت إلى ابن عباس فكتب إلي إن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن اليمين على المدعى عليه ولو أعطي الناس بدعواهم لادعى أناس أموال الناس ودماءهم
