The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled regarding a slave who has a contract for emancipation and is killed that his blood-money is paid in proportion. For the portion of the contract he has already paid, the blood-money of a free man is due, and for what remains, the blood-money of a slave.

قضى رسول الله ﷺ في المكاتب يقتل يودى لما أدى من مكاتبته دية الحر وما بقي دية العبد
Its isnad is sahih. Yaala is Ibn Ubayd. Hajjaj Sawwaf is Hajjaj bin Abu Uthman, who is trustworthy, a reliable memorizer, and firmly established. Qattan said, "He is perceptive, sound, and intelligent." Bukhari mentioned him in Al-Kabir 1/2/372. Yahya is Ibn Abu Kathir, and the hadith is a repeat of 2660.
