The Prophet ﷺ said to Jibreel, "What prevents you from visiting us more often than you do?"Then this verse was revealed, "And we do not descend except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us and what is between that, and your Lord is never forgetful" [Maryam 19:64].He said, that was the answer given to Muhammad ﷺ.
حدثنا عبد الرحمن عن ابن ذر عن أبيه عن سعيد بن جبير
قال النبي ﷺ لجبريل ما يمنعك أن تزورنا أكثر مما تزورنا قال فنزلت {وما نتنزل إلا بأمر ربك له ما بين أيدينا وما خلفنا وما بين ذلك وما كان ربك نسيا} قال وكان ذلك الجواب لمحمد ﷺ
