The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of your garments are the white ones, so wear them while you are alive and shroud your dead in them. And the best of your kohls is ithmid."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا المسعودي عن ابن خثيم عن سعيد بن جبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ خير ثيابكم البياض فالبسوها أحياء وكفنوا فيها موتاكم وخير أكحالكم الإثمد
Its isnad is sahih, because Waki's hearing from Masudi, Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah, was early, before his mental confusion set in. This is an abridged version of hadith 3036.
