Ati reported that the Prophet ﷺ rose during the night, used the toothstick, then prayed two units of prayer, then slept. He rose again, used the toothstick, performed ablution, and prayed two more units, continuing in this manner until he had prayed six units. Then he prayed witr with three units, followed by two further units of prayer.
حدثنا معاوية بن هشام حدثنا سفيان عن حبيب بن أبي ثابت
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قام من الليل فاستن ثم صلى ركعتين ثم نام ثم قام فاستن وتوضأ وصلى ركعتين حتى صلى ستا ثم أوتر بثلاث وصلى ركعتين
