My maternal aunt Umm Hufayd gave the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a gift of clarified butter, dried curd, and lizards. He ate from the butter and the curd but left the lizards out of distaste. They were eaten at the table of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and had they been forbidden, they would not have been eaten at his table.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن أبي بشر عن سعيد بن جبير قال سمعت
أهدت خالتي أم حفيد إلى رسول الله ﷺ سمنا وأقطا وأضبا فأكل من السمن والأقط وترك الأضب تقذرا وأكل على مائدة رسول الله ﷺ ولو كان حراما ما أكل على مائدة رسول الله ﷺ
