He was at the Black Stone, holding a curved staff with which he was striking the stone and kissing it. He said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims" [Al-Imran 3:102]. If a single drop of Zaqqum were to fall upon the earth, it would ruin the livelihood of all the people of the world, so what about the one whose food it is, and who has no other food besides it?
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن سليمان عن مجاهد
أنه كان عند الحجر وعنده محجن يضرب به الحجر ويقبله فقال قال رسول الله ﷺ {يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن إلا وأنتم مسلمون} لو أن قطرة قطرت من الزقوم في الأرض لأمرت على أهل الدنيا معيشتهم فكيف بمن هو طعامه وليس له طعام غيره
